Getting Started
What is DataVision AI?
DataVision AI is a free AI-powered data analytics platform. You upload a CSV or Excel file, ask questions in plain English like "show me monthly sales trends", and instantly get beautiful interactive charts — no coding, SQL, or data science knowledge needed.
Do I need coding or SQL skills to use DataVision AI?
No. DataVision AI is designed for non-technical users. You simply upload your spreadsheet and type your question in plain English. The AI handles all the data processing and chart generation automatically.
How do I get started with DataVision AI?
Sign in with your Google account at datavision-ai.vercel.app, upload any CSV or Excel file by dragging it into the chat, then type a question about your data. You'll get an interactive chart within seconds.
Is DataVision AI free to use?
Yes. DataVision AI has a free tier that gives you 1,000 analysis credits on sign-up — no credit card required. Each chat message uses 4–8 credits depending on whether a new file is uploaded.
Files & Data
What file formats does DataVision AI support?
DataVision AI supports CSV (.csv), Excel (.xls), and Excel (.xlsx) file formats. You can drag and drop files directly into the chat or use the file picker.
What is the maximum file size I can upload?
The maximum file size is 50 MB. For best performance, we recommend keeping files under 10 MB. Very large datasets are automatically sampled for analysis.
Can I analyze multiple datasets at the same time?
Yes. DataVision AI supports multiple simultaneous conversation threads, each with its own dataset context. You can switch between them from the sidebar.
What kinds of questions can I ask about my data?
You can ask anything — "Show me top 10 products by revenue", "What is the monthly trend?", "Which region has the lowest sales?", "Show a correlation between price and quantity", "Compare Q1 vs Q2 performance". The AI understands natural language questions about your specific dataset.
Charts & Visualizations
What types of charts does DataVision AI generate?
DataVision AI generates bar charts, line charts, scatter plots, pie charts, histograms, heatmaps, box plots, and more — automatically chosen based on your data and question. All charts are interactive powered by Plotly.js.
Can I zoom, pan, or interact with the charts?
Yes. Every chart generated by DataVision AI is fully interactive. You can zoom in, pan, hover to see exact values, click to isolate data series, and download the chart as a PNG image.
Can I download or export the charts?
Yes. You can download any chart as a PNG image directly from the chart toolbar. You can also export your entire conversation history as a JSON file from Account Settings.
Security & Privacy
Is my data safe with DataVision AI?
Yes. DataVision AI processes your data transiently — it is never permanently stored on our servers. We use TLS 1.3 encryption in transit and AES-256 at rest. Your raw data rows are never stored after the analysis session ends.
Does DataVision AI store my uploaded files?
No. Uploaded files are processed in memory to extract schema and sample data, then discarded. We never permanently store your raw spreadsheet data on any server.
Is DataVision AI GDPR compliant?
Yes. DataVision AI is built with GDPR, HIPAA, and SOC2-aligned practices. We collect only the minimum data necessary and you can request deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.
API & Developer
Can I use DataVision AI in my own application?
Yes. You can generate a DataVision API key from your Account Settings page and use it to call the DataVision API endpoints to embed AI-powered chart generation and data analysis into your own projects.
How many API keys can I create?
Free tier users can create 1 API key. Pro plan users can create up to 5 keys, and Enterprise users up to 20 keys. API keys can be revoked and regenerated at any time from Account Settings.
What are the API rate limits?
Free tier: 10 requests per minute, 100 per day. Pro tier: 60 requests per minute, 1,000 per day. Enterprise tier: 300 requests per minute, 9,999 per day. Credits are shared between dashboard and API usage.
Credits & Plans
How do credits work?
Each AI analysis request costs credits. Uploading a new file costs 8 credits, follow-up messages cost 4 credits, API /analyze calls cost 6 credits, and API /chart calls cost 4 credits. Free tier includes 1,000 credits that reset monthly.
When do my credits reset?
Credits reset every 30 days from your sign-up date. You can see your reset date in Account Settings under the Credits section.
What happens when I run out of credits?
When your credits reach zero, you'll see a message in the chat letting you know. Your conversation history and uploaded data context are preserved. Credits will be restored automatically on your next monthly reset date.
